Windows Vista Gets Props For Its Media Center

Windows Vista gets a lot of flack.  It’s dissed for being bloated, perhaps unstable, and released before being ready.  I can’t disagree with a lot of the charges.  When I got my laptop, I couldn’t find one in the “brick and mortar” stores without Vista so that’s what I got.  With only a gig of RAM trying to run it, I had to upgrade the laptop just to run the way it should have!  On top of that, the compatibility issues were awe inspiring!

The time since then, I have kept Vista on my computer.  I got used to running it and chose to learn it inside and out, knowing that eventually I’d have to help others when issues arrise.  I worked through the compatibility issues with the programs that I use and now I do enjoy the look and feel of Vista.  AND I do like the media player packaged with it.

Well, I noticed that over at Lifehacker.com Windows Media Center was chosen to be Hive Five Winner for Best DVR App!  Good job Microsoft!  It’s nice to get some good reviews, isn’t it?

Windows News:  The old “blue screen of death” is still alive and kicking in the new Windows 7!  (check out Gizmodo’s post)

Any other Vista users out there?  What are your thoughts now that it’s been out for a few years?
